Ancar, one of Brazil’s leading shopping center companies, is entering a new chapter in its history with the launch of its renewed brand identity. With a portfolio of 23 shopping centers and more than 53 years of experience, the company is undergoing a rebranding process that reflects a transformation already well underway: strengthening its position as an integrated platform for consumer experiences and strategic solutions for retailers, powered by data, innovation, and best-in-class asset management.

The new brand identity establishes the direction of Ancar’s positioning for the years ahead while reinforcing the company’s key differentiators.

"The transition from Ancar Ivanhoe to Ancar officially embraces a name that already reflected who we are today: a company that is close to consumers, retailers, and the market. More than a visual evolution, our new brand expresses a clear growth strategy built on customer experience, intelligence, and sustainable value creation, guiding us into the future," says Cecília Ligiéro, Marketing, Sales and Innovation Director at Ancar.

Ancar’s strategy is also grounded in data-driven management and a tailored approach to each asset, taking into account regional characteristics, customer profiles, and the unique potential of every shopping center. By combining market intelligence, technology, and strong governance, the company is able to make more informed decisions regarding tenant mix, customer experience initiatives, and commercial strategies, strengthening the competitiveness of its assets while creating greater value for retailers.

The new brand identity also reflects changes within its global investment partner, La Caisse (formerly CDPQ), which consolidated its real estate operations under a unified brand and retired the Ivanhoé Cambridge name. This transition does not affect the joint venture structure—La Caisse remains fully committed—nor does it alter any existing agreements. Rather, it reinforces the strength and continuity of the partnership while positioning the platform for long-term success.

Customer Experience as a Business Strategy

One of Ancar’s key competitive advantages is its investment in proprietary leisure, dining, and lifestyle destinations that reposition its shopping centers as complete hubs for entertainment, social interaction, and everyday experiences.

Through Anima Ancar, the company’s business unit dedicated to creating proprietary concepts and immersive experiences, Ancar develops original projects that transform the relationship between consumers and its shopping centers.

Today, the company operates 14 proprietary experience venues, totaling more than 40,000 square meters—a footprint that has doubled over the past five years. Through Anima Ancar, the company continues to maximize the value of its portfolio by creating experiences that increase dwell time, enhance foot traffic, and stimulate retail sales.

Data and Technology Driving Retail Performance

Alongside its investment in customer experience, Ancar has made significant progress in its digital transformation strategy, placing data intelligence at the center of retail performance.

In response to an increasingly dynamic market, changing consumer behavior, and growing pressure for operational efficiency, the company has built an integrated digital ecosystem connecting consumers, retailers, and employees through initiatives such as the Retailer Dashboard, the Retailer Hub, customer relationship platforms, and UAI (Ancar University).

This ecosystem enhances analytical capabilities, supports more informed commercial and operational decisions, and transforms data into tangible business value. Technology has become a strategic driver for increasing sales, improving operational efficiency, strengthening retailer performance, and supporting the long-term growth of Ancar’s portfolio.

A New Brand Identity

The rebranding includes the official adoption of the Ancar name alongside a completely renewed visual and verbal identity. The new brand features a proprietary typeface, a more flexible graphic system, and a simpler, more approachable tone of voice designed to ensure consistency, clarity, and recognition across every customer touchpoint.

The identity has been conceived as an adaptable brand system capable of evolving alongside the company’s different business units, assets, and future initiatives. More than a visual refresh, it strengthens the alignment between Ancar’s strategy, culture, and customer experience, reinforcing the brand as a dynamic platform that connects people, businesses, and communities.

“O processo de rebranding sintetiza uma visão de futuro que já estamos colocando em prática. Acreditamos que a vida acontece nos encontros, e nosso papel é criar ambientes que conectem pessoas e negócios no mundo real, com relevância, propósito e resultados. Estamos preparados para seguir crescendo com inovação, consistência e proximidade com nossos parceiros”, conclui a executiva.
